GCSE STUDENT WITH SEND
I first met this student in March 2022.​ She was halfway through Year 11 and finding English a challenge, largely due to her SEND needs and a significant lack of confidence.
​
Despite these hurdles, her passion for English was undeniable, and we quickly developed a strong rapport. It was clear that with the right support and strategies, she had incredible potential to thrive.
​
By breaking the exam papers into manageable steps, demonstrating model answers, and consistently building her self-belief, she transformed her approach to English. Her hard work paid off—not only did she pass her GCSE English, but she achieved B grades.
​
Our journey didn’t stop there. I continued to work with her through her A Levels and EPQ. Today, I’m proud to still be tutoring her at University. Her progress is a testament to the power of perseverance and tutoring.
Daisy is truly unique, the bond she has formed with my daughter over the past three years has been incredibly special. She was predicted a D at the start of her GCSE year. Through her hard work and determination with Daisy, she managed to get a B in both Literature and Language. Daisy is just an incredible teacher: so likeable, warm and fun. My daughter would be lost without Daisy's amazing support.

RESIT GCSE ESL STUDENT WITH SEMH
In January 2024, I began working with a student who was resitting their English GCSE after earning a grade 3 three years earlier. They opened up about struggling with anxiety, something I could empathize with and support.

As we bonded, they shared their love for Dungeons & Dragons, which inspired me to create tailored creative writing tasks that made learning more engaging and enjoyable.
​
Despite the challenges of the resit process, their determination and hard work shone through. With a supportive environment and targeted coaching, they not only overcame their exam anxiety but achieved an impressive grade 6 in just five months.
​
Today, they’re putting the creative writing skills we developed together to use in their job — a fantastic outcome that reflects their incredible growth.

GCSE ESL STUDENT WITH SEND

I began working with this student at the start of her second year of GCSEs when she was navigating the English GCSE system for the very first time.
​
Despite this, she set her sights on completing her GCSEs in one year — a bold goal, especially without any exposure to the UK curriculum.
​
Through tailored tutoring sessions and coaching strategies, I guided her through this intense year. Together, we tackled the entire English curriculum, from foundational concepts to structuring her answers effectively.
​
Her dedication and effort were nothing short of inspiring. By the end of the year, she not only passed her GCSEs but exceeded expectations with outstanding grades of 6 and 7.

Our journey didn’t stop there — I continued to support her through her IB studies, where she has shown similar dedication and success.
Daisy is an amazing teacher! I had very little background in English language, especially in literature. I only had one year to prepare for the exams of a 2 year programme. I can confidently say that I enhanced my skills in English so much. She is also really supportive and kind and always comes to class with a positive mindset and ready to help. Best tutor I’ve had so far.
